Cobblestones is a top heritage attraction for all ages, right in the heart of Wairarapa. Explore, discover, reminisce....there's plenty to do at Cobblestones where you'll get up-close with Wairarapa's colonial history, and be amazed at the treasure-trove of HISTORIC BUILDINGS, old time contraptions and machinery.
You'll have a warm welcome from our volunteers at our new state-of-the-art EXHIBITION CENTRE. Our new exhibition space tells the region’s stories through photographs, maps, exhibits and anecdotes.
Our MUSEUM SHOP sells vintage articles, giftware, educational toys and crafts made by by local artists. All shop profits go towards the upkeep and restoration of the museum. Open daily from10am-4pm.
Then step outdoors to Cobblestones’ historic village, often featured on Wairarapa garden tours and as a WEDDING VENUE, with its deciduous trees and pretty cottage gardens. The park is dotted with 19th and 20th century buildings, some of them Category 2 listed buildings, including Wairarapa's first hospital, Wesleyan Church and original Hastwell Stables.
