Wairarapa's Cobblestones Museum & Early Settlers' Village is a 10 minute stroll from the centre of Greytown, and shows how life was lived by the region's colonial settlers - through our new exhibition space, and the beautiful park which has a working printery and six Category 2 listed historic Wairarapa buildings:

 

  • The Hastwell Stables with the original cobblestones still on site
  • The Colonial Cottage c.1867
  • Wairarapa's First Public Hospital opened in Greytown in 1875
  • The former Wesleyan (Methodist) Church opened 1865
  • The Donald Woolshed
  • Mangapakeha School which opened in 1902 at Tinui, near Masterton.
